Birthday Parties

One of my favorite things to do is plan a kids birthday party. You can get so creative and there are so many great tips and ideas out there to use. I have done pirate parties, princess/knight parties, science parties even a circus( at my house!) It is actually rubbing off on my kids because they like to plan their parties forever in advance. My 3 year old has been planning her fourth birthday ( in May) since October. Anyways, the last party I threw last October for my son Cole when he turned 7. We decided on a Harry Potter party since he has been into that movie for awhile and mom loves it!! I won't lie, it was a lot of planning and a lot of work setting up all the props but it was well worth it to us. I had lots of help also from my two nieces who helped with the decorations, thanks.
My favorite part may have been the brick wall hanging on the front door that the kids ran through to get into the house. We had a potions class where the kids made lots of potions , one was even drinkable. After that we went outside for magical creatures. Here the kids were able to learn about all kinds of animals and they were aloud to hold all of them. They really liked this part.

After all of the classes they went to the great hall ( back patio) for pizza and cake. Hagrid brought Cole his birthday cake just like on Harry Potter 1. I made the cake and I have to say it turned out pretty cute!

I found almost all of my ideas on http://www.birthdaypartyideas.com/ and I found the bottle labels at www.flickr.com/photos/lovemanor
